BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest for Textiles. The role will be working in the finishing department, you will use a range of methods and processes to ensure cloth is finished to the highest quality. Working week 07:30am to 16:00pm Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 13:00pm Friday
Total hours per week: 37.50

VACANCY DESCRIPTION

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship.
Responsible to – Departmental Supervisor/Line Manager.
Responsible for –  Cloth Finishing.
Job purpose – To process fabric to the highest of standards.

Candidate must be confident in dealing with people at all levels.
Candidate must be punctual and reliable.
Vacancy is based in a small team, therefore candidate expected to work using own initiative.
Candidate must be dedicated to completing the apprenticeship qualifications.
Enthusiastic individual with a flexible approach to work in a busy office.
Hard working individual with proactive approach to their work and high attention to detail.
Must have a methodical approach to new tasks and problems.
A helpful and friendly approach is essential.
A professional and smart appearance is essential.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Set up and operate machinery to meet particular part of the finishing process.
Ensure fabric is processed according to specification.
Correctly batch fabric for the next process.
Communicate product defects and machine faults to supervisor/manager.
Use computer system to record fabric progression and access specification/route information.
Carry out machine safety and maintenance checks in accordance with the schedule.
Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
Ensure Health/Safety and Environmental guidelines are adhered to at all times.
Undertake any task that has been deemed appropriate by the departmental supervisor/manager.

All operatives will be multi-skilled – training will be given for a number of different processes.
