Course Overview:
This course is for first aiders with a certificate due to expire. It is a mandatory requirement that to continue as a first aider, you will need to complete a 2 day refresher course prior to the expiry date on your certificate.
It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) Regulations.
Candidate Suitability:
The only entry requirement for this programme is that learners must hold a current first aid certificate. Evidence of this will be required at the time of booking if your current certificate is from a different training provider.
The Centre delivers a number of refresher programmes throughout the year to ensure that learners do not miss the opportunity to renew their certificates.
Course Aims & Outline:
The programme will teach and train candidates to deal with the following first aid topics:

| Minor injuries & eye injuries | Spinal & head injuries |
Course Delivery:
This programme has a packed schedule, delivered over a two day period. The programme is accredited and approved by Qualsafe, the awarding organisation for First Aid training. Our tutors are industry specialists with decades of first aid experience. The course is classroom based and includes ‘first aid simulation’ (practical, hands on examples of how to deal with a variety of first aid situations). This will involve learners undertaking role play with other learners.
Assessment:
The programme is assessed throughout, using a range of ongoing assessment methods. In addition, there are 2 multi-choice assessments that learners need to achieve to complete the course.

Duration:
This programme runs for 2 days, starting at 09.00am and finishing at 4.30pm. Lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the day for all learners.
Delegates are advised to wear comfortable clothing as you will be on the floor practicing CPR, body check & recovery position. Please do not wear a skirt/dress.
