  • Test and monitor the production of our product in line with standards
  • Check if the properties of our incoming materials in forms of ecru and dyed yarn, finished and dyed fabric, follow the company standards
  • Immediate feedback of any non-conformance to the relevant team and to direct report
  • Test on agreed frequency the previous categories and feed our existing record for reference and analysis
  • Adhere to laboratory procedures and risk assessments
  • Preparation and labelling of testing samples and accurately testing per relevant international testing standards, using relevant laboratory equipment
  • Maintain the laboratory records, retrieve, collate and interpret testing results
  • Monitor laboratory conditions, supplies and testing material, and request for a replenishment on time to avoid lack of testing continuity
  • Operate any machine responsibly and according to the operating manual and standard operating procedure to prevent damages to the machine, to the surrounding area or machines and self or other colleagues’ injuries
  • Sending Test samples to external labs and recording of all results
  • Clean and maintain work area and all lab equipment and supplies
  • Complete online training and mandatory workshops and show willingness to continuous improvement
  • Undertake basic administrative tasks and provide assistance when needed

The individual need to build positive collaboration with various departments, such us:

  • Design
  • Preparation and Production
  • Planning & Warehouse
  • Inspection
  • External Test Labs
  • External contacts of internal manufacturing

Collaboration will include amongst others;

  • Receiving samples for testing
  • Requests to retrieve samples for testing
  • Request of test results at various service deliveries
  • Communication of non-conformance properties to preparation, production or direct report in case of raw materials
  • Retrieval of samples for testing to conduct agreed daily testing
  • GCSEs/A-levels or equivalent required (Mandatory)
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Computer literacy especially Office applications (Mandatory)
  • Familiar with using and handling manual and automated test equipment
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision with attention to detail
  • Colour perception on Munsell Hue test to be good/superior (Mandatory)
  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills (mandatory)
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with peers and cross-functional business partners
  • Excellent colour vision (mandatory)
  • Bachelor’s degree in textiles or equivalent (optional)
  • Previous experience in textile manufacturing (optional)
  • Fabric and yarn testing knowledge (optional)
  • Flexible with Working hours and ready to work in different shift patterns(mandatory)
