TEXTILE MANUFACTURING OPERATIVE

The Textile Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship standard has been specifically designed by the industry’s leading businesses and supported by the sector’s Livery companies to provide the next generation of textile employees with the skills they need in textile production and manufacturing. The programme covers the main requirements of working in textile production and includes elements of off-the-job learning, blended with on-the-job practical learning. This apprenticeship will allow learners to progress onto the new Level 4 ‘Technical’ apprenticeships, where appropriate. Technical apprenticeships are available in a variety of occupational roles, including weaving, dyeing, colouration, finishing, laboratory science, engineering and leadership/management.

MANUFACTURING TEXTILE PRODUCTS

Our manufacturing textile products apprenticeships are designed to cover the wide variety of job roles within the textile manufacturing and production sector.

Intermediate level is an ideal introduction to the sector and would suit textile operative level roles in spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing.

The Advanced level would be suitable for roles such as dyeing technician, textile technologist, colour technologist and quality supervisors. To start this programme, the applicant should ideally have five GCSEs at grade C or above or have completed an Intermediate Apprenticeship.

MANUFACTURING SEWN/ APPAREL PRODUCTS

Our manufacturing sewn/apparel products are designed to cover a wide range of roles within the sewn/apparel sector of fashion and textiles.

Intermediate level is an ideal introduction to the sector and would suit roles involved in the creation of sewn products such as sewing machinists, soft furnishers, tailors / dressmakers and clothing cutters.

The Advanced level would be suitable for more technical / specialised roles such as garment technologist, sample machinist, pattern grader, and pattern cutter.

To start this programme, the applicant should ideally have five GCSEs at grade C or above or have completed an Intermediate Apprenticeship.
