Course Overview:

This qualification aims to provide learners with the skills needed to work within a management job role. The programme develops the skills and knowledge of those seeking to move up to the next level of management from Team Leader.

This qualification was developed by the Institute of Leadership & Management and meets the needs of all types of businesses.

Candidate Suitability:

Ideal for learners who have management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing their abilities. It’s particularly suited to practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.

Course Outline:

This 3 day programme allows learners to gain valuable experience in the core elements of management & you will be asked to complete 2 assignments towards the qualification. The course will look at the following areas:

Unit Titles
Understanding Leadership

Understanding of different leadership styles or behaviours to be found in the workplace, and the impact that these different styles are likely to have on behaviour of team members

Managing, Organising & Communicating Effectively        

Recognise the importance of their role in creating a common sense of purpose that supports the overall vision and strategy of the organisation. Explore ways of managing performance effectively review their current communication ability and examine ways to improve communication and feedback.

Leading & Motivating a Team Effectively

To enhance managers’ understanding of planning, prioritising and delegating to manage activities effectively.

To enable managers’ knowledge of motivational theories and their application in the work-place

Course Delivery:

This programme is delivered using a range of taught sessions, group and individual activities and assessment. Once registered, you will be granted ‘Studying Membership’ status within the Institute whilst you undertake your programme.

Course Assessment:

Learners are asked to complete 2 assignments in their own time and will require use of a laptop/pc/ipad to complete them on/keep in touch with the course tutor via email. The assignments are designed to allow learners to demonstrate their understanding of and ability to apply the topics covered. These assignments will be verified by the awarding organisation through external moderation.

Progression Opportunities:

Candidates who achieve the Level 3 qualification can progress to ILM Level 4 Certificate in Management
